Video Steeze!

To tie in with the launch of the new Illum Sphere Incoming EP, our good friend Benjamino has created this little animated masterpiece as the video for 'Murky (You Know)'! We absolutely love it and we hope that you will to. Massive thanks to Ben who took the time to create the video, which was previewed at the Norvun Sunday's night last Sunday. The response was pretty awesome, with people agreeing that the video really suited the style of the song. So, have a butchers and let us know what you think!

The Dandiest Guest...

Daedelus- Live At Hoya:Hoya (mp3)

Without doubt one of the greatest sets at Hoya:Hoya so far came courtesy of Alfred Darlington, aka Daedelus. With his impeccable attire and impressive box of tricks, the Monome, he destroyed our last party at The Music Box before we moved to our new home, The Roadhouse. As we reach our first birthday, we thought we'd treat you to a present in the form of his entire set, start to finish.... ouch!!!

Love ya.

Toddla Rinses Out At Hoya:Hoya

Toddla T- Live At Hoya:Hoya (mp3)

Yes, yes, I know it's been pretty darn long since we've posted a blog, but there's been endless excuses that I'll no doubt tell ya over a beer some time. Anyway... we have news!!!!

We've now firmly got our feets under the Roadhouse table and since we've been there we've had Danny Breaks, Kissey Asplund, Rustie and a huuuuge NYE party only last week! The recordings of which you will no doubt here at a later date, however, for the mean time this will more than fill yer appertite!!

Back in March 2008, at our second party, our good ol' mucka, lanky, wafroed up (you seen him recently?) and favourite steel city soundbwoy, Toddla T, got busy doing damage at Hoya:Hoya. It was dope, more than dope.... and one of his early shows in Manchester, after doing the Chair and the awesome Hot Milk. Get ready, cos it's fiyahh!

Also... this month we're going head to head with our good mates at bad boy selectahs from Hot Milk, Joey B and Irish Mash, and we're donning a new look... reach!!

Wowzers!

See, I told you! Two posts in two days! Onwards and upwards, as they say.

So, Hoya:Hoya launched at the Roadhouse in September, when myself and Jonny were in charge all night. As soon as the lights went up we were already looking forward to this month's extravaganza, welcoming two of the bestest around.

First up, Swedish soulstress Kissey Asplund drops in for a Manchester debut. After working with artists like Rustie, and even working on a few bits with myself, she's set for big things in 2009!
We also welcome good friend and UK legend, Danny Breaks! Danny needs no introduction, having been a legend on the Jungle and Rave scenes in the 90s, he is now well-known for his bass-heavy hip-hop bombs like 'The Jellyfish', 'Attack Of The Beatazoids', 'Duck Rock' and more, which have rocked pretty much every Manchester dancefloor over the last five years.

It's going to be a cracking show for sure! Kissey's on stage at 11.30 sharp, don't sleep!

Be good.

Ryan Hunn - Live At Hoya:Hoya 1

Download - Ryan Hunn Live At Hoya:Hoya Parts 1 & 2

So, here we go. Kick starting off the blog is a recording from roughly the last two hours of my set at the Hoya:Hoya launch on February 23rd 2008. The night was dope, full of all our friends and a lot of people who we didn't know, Jonny played for six hours in the back and I played for six hours in the main room. It was a brilliant way to launch Hoya:Hoya fo' sho.

So, the zip file features two mp3s. Check 'em, listen, give us a comment and stay tuned for more.

Nicely.
